Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information PaycheckSmart does and does not collect. In short: the calculators run entirely in your browser, and we never receive or store the pay figures you enter.
This site is operated by Kindred Works LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, which is responsible for information collected through this site. Questions: privacy@paychecksmart.com.
Information you enter
The numbers you type into a calculator (your pay, filing status, deductions) are processed locally in your browser to compute your result. They are not transmitted to us or stored on a server. Closing the tab discards them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs, in aggregate. GA4 sets cookies and collects usage data such as the pages you view, your device type and your approximate location. This does not include the contents of your calculations. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.
If you are in the EU, UK, EEA or Switzerland, you see a cookie banner with equal "Accept" and "Decline" buttons, and analytics stay off until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics run by default; you can turn them off at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, and they stop as soon as you decline. Your choice is remembered in your browser and you can change it at any time from that link. The same choice covers both Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics. The calculators work the same either way.
Cookies & advertising
PaycheckSmart may display advertising (Google AdSense) to remain free. Ads follow the same "Cookie preferences" choice as analytics: they do not load if you decline. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our sites and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (myadcenter.google.com).
- You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- You can turn analytics and ads on or off at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), such as the right to access or delete personal data. Because we do not collect personal information through the calculators, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete, but you can contact us with any request.
Children's privacy
PaycheckSmart is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date below.
